Digital dentistry and diagnostics

In the dental practice of Dr. med. dent. Thomas Pennekamp we use state-of-the-art equipment and digital X-ray methods for early detection, diagnosis and treatment.

CEREC – all-ceramic dentures

You have never experienced a dental prosthesis so comfortable before.
Cerec allows a faster and more comfortable treatment on the way to a partial crown, crown or veneer. After scanning your dentition, the denture is planned directly on the computer and made in the practice. These steps allow the denture to be fitted with precision.
Cerec has become very popular, thanks to the following factors:

– Cerec puts an end to temporaries and follow-up appointments.
– The result lasts perfectly for years.
– You don’t see dark crown margins and won’t get an allergic reaction.
– You have healthy gums.
– With Cerec, the denture looks deceptively real.

3D X-ray (DVT)

X-rays are indispensable for dental diagnoses and interventions. It is therefore all the more important that these X-rays can be produced with low radiation. Digital storage media are more sensitive than conventional X-ray films, allowing us to produce higher quality images with a lower dose of radiation.

In the dental practice of Dr. Thomas Pennekamp, we therefore use one of the most modern digital 3D X-ray machines (Orthophos SL, Sirona) to produce a three-dimensional image of your jaw with low radiation. The 3D X-ray images help us, among other things, when planning implants or complicated wisdom tooth removals.

Radiation-free tooth decay diagnosis with the DIAGNOcam™.

Do you think of unpleasant treatments when you think of tooth decay? That doesn’t have to be the case – at least not if you detect the decay early enough and react before it has caused major damage. In the dental practice Dr. Thomas Pennekamp, we use the DIAGNOcam™, a state-of-the-art method for radiation-free early tooth decay detection. The DIAGNOcam™ uses light waves to illuminate the tooth and sends the images live to a screen. The DIAGNOcam™ can be used as often as desired on each patient and each tooth. This allows us to detect decay at an early stage, observe it, and only treat it when it is really necessary.
